leave a comment »

House Minority Leader John Boehner R-Ohio blasted the Obama administrations economic policies in a speech Tuesday and called on the president to fire his top two economic lieutenants.

Boehner wants President Obama to ask for and accept the resignations of Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and Larry Summers, head of the National Economic Council. Firing his economic team is one of five actions Boehner argues the president should take to right the economy.

leave a comment »

More Americans disapprove (37%) than approve (20%) of Barack Obama’s recent comments concerning the planned construction of a mosque near the World Trade Center site in New York City, but 4 in 10 do not have an opinion.

Republicans are paying closer attention to the matter than are Democrats or independents.

Obama’s New Politics of Fear

with one comment

The president hit the campaign trail, abandoning his pledge of a post-partisan politics and trashing the GOP. Mark McKinnon on why it’s not working.

“It is a little odd getting lectures on sobriety from folks that spent like drunken sailors,” President Barack Obama said of Republicans Thursday while campaigning for Senate candidate Robin Carnahan (D-MO).

An interesting choice of words for a president whose current budget is expected to add an astounding $10 trillion to the national debt in the next decade, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

Documents show media plotting to kill stories about Rev. Jeremiah Wright

leave a comment »

It was the moment of greatest peril for then-Sen. Barack Obama’s political career. In the heat of the presidential campaign, videos surfaced of Obama’s pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, angrily denouncing whites, the U.S. government and America itself.

According to records obtained by The Daily Caller, at several points during the 2008 presidential campaign a group of liberal journalists took radical steps to protect their favored candidate. Employees of news organizations including Time, Politico, the Huffington Post, the Baltimore Sun, the Guardian, Salon and the New Republic participated in outpourings of anger over how Obama had been treated in the media, and in some cases plotted to fix the damage.

In one instance, Spencer Ackerman of the Washington Independent urged his colleagues to deflect attention from Obama’s relationship with Wright by changing the subject. Pick one of Obama’s conservative critics, Ackerman wrote, “Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares — and call them racists.”
